ALL ABOUT SHAMTI RUIZ
CEO and facilitator of Pneuma Dance
Shamti Ruiz holds a degree from Universidad Europea de Madrid, Spain, in Dance Sciences with a master's degree in Art Didactics. She is certified and serves as a facilitator in Transpersonal Psychology and Pneuma Breathwork.
She has practiced dance throughout her life, which sparked a profound interest in her to explore its therapeutic potential, particularly in classical dances of India. This became the subject of her academic thesis.
She studied for 6 years in India at the Academy of Bharatanatyam, following an ancestral lineage. Currently, she continues her studies under the guidance of Guru Smt. Gayarthri Keshavan. To broaden her perspective and gain insights into ancestral practices, she completed the 200-hour YTTC Yoga Teacher Training Course in Kerala, India. For years, she has been researching the spiritual dimension of Hindu and ancient Egyptian dances.
With a wealth of experience and knowledge accumulated over years of studying across various parts of the world, Shamti Ruiz initiates her own cultural and educational projects. She imparts training in Bharatanatyam dance and Hindu philosophy in multiple countries across Europe, the United States, and Mexico. She serves as the international director of Pneuma Dance.
Currently, she is based at the University of Oxford, England, where she continues her research projects at the Oxford Center for Hindu Studies.
She also holds a Masters in Art Didactics, focusing on research into psychotherapy through movement, as well as yoga and dance techniques. Currently, she continues to delve deeper into research on Transpersonal Dance from a sacred and therapeutic perspective, together with her husband Rahul Nambiar at the University of Oxford.
