Service Description
Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest classical dance forms of India, with over 2,000 years of history. Originating from South India, this art form blends rhythm, expression, and movement into a powerful practice that strengthens the body, focuses the mind, and awakens inner sensitivity. In this beginner-friendly class, we will learn the foundational elements of Bharatanatyam: - Adavus (basic steps and rhythmic coordination) - Abhinaya (facial and body expressions) - Hastas or mudras (symbolic hand gestures) - Elements of traditional choreography - Physical conditioning and flexibility exercises Each session combines structured repetition, traditional music, mindful breathing, and focused attention to develop grace, strength, and presence. Through consistent practice, students build coordination, body awareness, and expressive confidence. No previous dance experience is required—just an open heart and curiosity to explore. This is an invitation to connect with a living tradition, and to discover your body as a medium for art, storytelling, and inner connection. Step by step, let the dance guide you.
