Welcome to an exceptional 5-day retreat in the captivating surroundings of Mount Shasta, California! This journey invites you to explore and connect with your inner beauty through a unique fusion of art and ancient practices. Set in a breathtaking and inspiring environment, this retreat is designed for your inner transformation, immersed in a wonderful energetic hub surrounded by nature.

Dedicated to the sacred and ancient Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam, with its 5,000-year-old history, this retreat holds profound spiritual and transformative value. We will also delve deep into the practice of yoga, empowering students with new techniques and knowledge, enhancing their proficiency in both disciplines. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, this retreat will enrich your path in the arts of dance and yoga. It offers a journey to your soul through movement, prayer, rhythm, and emotions, providing a space for transformation through unique tools and techniques on the planet.

In the practice of dance and yoga, we discover it's more than just movement—it's about surrender, offering, and reciting verses to the soul. Through devotion, breath, movement, and dance, we explore states of peace, harmony, union, and inner beauty. This practice elevates consciousness, deeply connecting us with our being and the universe, fostering a union of body, mind, and spirit, along with a psycho-spiritual awakening and transpersonal transformation.

Each day begins with Hatha Yoga, a fluid and traditional practice focused on conscious breathing and movement, followed by morning dance sessions in the studio. These sessions include comprehensive conditioning to build strength and endurance, along with training in traditional and new techniques to expand our Bharatanatyam vocabulary. Additionally, we will explore Pneuma Dance, inspired by Indian, Eastern, and other ancient dance traditions, aiming to experience unique internal states through movement. We will also engage in Pneuma Breathwork sessions, a revolutionary practice for expanding consciousness, deepening self-awareness, and enjoying its healing benefits.

Dance is not merely movement to music, and yoga is not merely asanas and stretches. Both are specialized tools and techniques that enable participants to connect with the most sacred parts of themselves. Join us on this retreat—a journey for the soul through the beauty of Art, Philosophy, and the Science of Yoga.

This retreat also focuses on the holistic well-being of participants. Well-being is not just physical health but a complete state of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. During the retreat, we will engage in activities that promote a healthy balance and deep internal connection.

You will be guided by Shamti Ruiz, creator of Pneuma Dance. Shamti holds a Bachelor's degree in Dance Sciences from Universidad Europea de Madrid, Spain, and a Master's in Art Didactics.
