About
My name is Shamti Nambiar Ruiz
I am an Artistic Director, and I am passionate about teaching Bharatanatyam, an ancient dance that conveys profound virtues. This discipline has been essential for my artistic, personal, and spiritual growth. I love accompanying my students on their journey, guiding them to express their inner beauty through movement and helping them thrive both in art and personal development. My classes are designed to help you connect with yourself, become aware of the present moment, and enjoy each class with devotion and dedication.

Graduated in Dance Sciences from the European University of Madrid, where she gained a comprehensive understanding of dance disciplines and complemented her studies with specialized training in Hatha Yoga in Bangalore, Kerala, and Mysuru, India. During her time in India, she immersed herself in the sacred art of Bharatanatyam, studying under the renowned Guru Gayathri Keshavan, with whom she continues to refine this ancient dance form. She currently organizes the annual retreat "The Devadasis" in Khajuraho, India, an event that blends the practice of Indian Classical Dance and Yoga, while also leading teacher training programs tailored for her students.
She also holds a Master’s degree in Art Didactics, focusing on movement psychotherapy, integrating yoga and dance as therapeutic tools. Her current work revolves around the research and promotion of Transpersonal Dance, exploring it from a sacred and therapeutic perspective to foster personal and spiritual transformation in her practitioners.
