The Athens Dance Retreat is an intensive artistic training and residential experience directed by Shamti Ruiz Nambiar, created especially for Pneuma Dance students and open to those who wish to join this process of study and artistic development.
Over five days, participants will reside in a private villa located at the foot of the Acropolis, in the heart of Athens, allowing for a direct immersion into the city’s historical and cultural atmosphere.
The program is centered on Bharatanatyam as the core discipline, complemented by sessions of Yoga and Pneuma Breathwork, as well as rehearsals and stage preparation.
The retreat includes participation in the 64th World Congress on Dance Research (CID–UNESCO), where students will have access to lectures and workshops led by international artists and researchers.
Pneuma Dance, as an official member of the International Dance Council (CID–UNESCO), participates within this global platform dedicated to the preservation and advancement of dance as intangible cultural heritage.
As part of the official congress framework, participants will present a Bharatanatyam performance in a theater in Athens.
This retreat offers a unique combination of artistic training, international academic engagement, and shared community living within a culturally significant environment.
